I was introduced to my friend Ahmed Akour on Twitter (@akour_) about 7 - 8 months ago. I learnt that he studies Computer Science at JUST and is the Co-Founder and CEO of JoGeeks (https://www.facebook.com/JoGeeks). He started the project "Alternative Arabic Music" 3 years ago (https://www.facebook.com/AlternativeArabicMusic) and everyone was interacting well with the page and loving the music. So in March 2012; Ahmed decided to create Radio Arddi (http://radioarddi.com/).
A team of 10, 7 girls and 3 guys came out with a great Radio idea after 6 hours of brainstorming. From Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE and Germany, we listen everyday for 24 hours straight to amazing Alternative Arabic Music. 06.06.2012 at 12 midnight was the launch of Radio Arddi. I saw the promotion online and I think it's great that they started with Ziad Rahbani. Just listening to him makes your brain work.
I kept listening to it for 2 hours that night and I am the kind of person who doesn't really like Arabic music, but when I listened to #RadioArddi I couldn't stop listening to it. The Radio made me fall in love with the Arabic music. You can listen to Ziad Al-Rahbani, Fairouz, Akher Zapheer, Mashrou' Leila, Autostrad and many more Arabic artists who are great at what they do.
